NUS×KBS 交流懇親会：言語の壁を越えた60名の熱量と、国境を越えた「繋がり」
継続する繋がりから実現した交流会
2026年2月、都内にてシンガポール国立大学（NUS）MBAと慶應義塾大学大学院経営管理研究科（KBS）の交流懇親会が開催されました。 本イベントは、日本の企業やビジネスエコシステムを学ぶNUSの実践的プログラム「GIP（Global Immersion Program） Japan」の一環として行われたものです。 2年前の開催に続き、今回再びNUSの皆様をお迎えし、このような貴重な機会を持てたことに深く感謝申し上げます。
多様なバックグラウンドを持つ60名超の参加者
当日は、GIP Japanに参加するNUSの現役生や日本で活躍するNUS MBAのアルムナイ（修了生）に加え、KBSのMBA・EMBA現役生、各界の第一線で活躍するアルムナイ、GFTN（Global FinTech Network）のメンバーなど、総勢60名を超える方々が参加。学生から豊富な実務経験を持つプロフェッショナルまで、幅広い層が一堂に会する大規模な交流の場となりました。
多様な文化背景を持つNUSの皆さん
今回参加されたNUSの皆さんは、インドをはじめ、シンガポール、中国、日本、さらにはアメリカ、カナダ、台湾、東南アジア各国（タイ、フィリピン、マレーシア）など様々な国や地域出身という多彩な顔ぶれです。多様な文化背景と職務経験を持つ彼らとの対話は、普段の国内の環境では得られない、多角的な視点や海外ビジネスのリアルに触れる非常に貴重な機会となりました。
交流会のハイライト：言語の壁を越えた熱量
会は、岡田正大教授からの「Welcome to Japan !」という歓迎の言葉と、日本の伝統的な「Kanpai !」の発声で、華やかに幕を開けました。
会場を見渡すと、年齢、性別、国籍、そしてキャリアの違いなど全く関係なく、多様な人々が入り交じって熱心に語り合う姿があちらこちらに。自身のビジネスに対する強い思いや、自国に対する誇り。それらを伝えるために、身振り手振りを交え、時にはスマートフォンの画面を駆使しながらコミュニケーションを図る参加者たち。
そこにあったのは、「伝えたい」「知りたい」という純粋な思いが交差する空間です。共通の言語（完璧な英語）の必要性を凌駕するほどの圧倒的な「熱量」が、会場全体を包み込んでいきました。
60名が一つになった「一本締め」
宴もたけなわとなった終盤、KBSより、日本の伝統的な締めくくりである「一本締め」を紹介。
「全員で一つの拍手をし、私たちが一つのチームになったことを象徴する」。その意味が伝えられると、参加者全員が立ち上がり、すっと手を合わせます。「よーお！」の掛け声とともに会場にピタリと揃った拍手が響き渡り、国境を越えて全員が「一つのチーム」としてまとまる、一体感のある締めくくりとなりました。
学び、繋がり、感謝
多様なバックグラウンドを持つ海外の学生やアルムナイの方々と、これほど深く熱量を持って語り合えたことは、参加した一人ひとりにとって大きな「学び」となりました。
この日生まれた素晴らしい「繋がり」と、それを支えてくださった皆様に心より感謝申し上げます。今後もこのようなグローバルな交流の機会を大切にし、学びと実践のネットワークを広げてまいります。最後に、今回の交流会に足を運んでくださったNUSの皆様、ご参加いただいたすべての皆様に厚く御礼申し上げます。

NUS × KBS Networking Event: The Passion of 60 Attendees Going Beyond Language Barriers and Building "Connections" Across Borders
A Networking Event Realized Through Continuous Connections
In February 2026, a networking event between the National University of Singapore (NUS) MBA and Keio Business School (KBS) was held in Tokyo. This event was hosted as part of "GIP (Global Immersion Program) Japan," a practical program for NUS students to learn about Japanese corporations and the local business ecosystem. Following our previous gathering two years ago, we are deeply grateful to welcome the NUS cohort once again and to share such a valuable opportunity.
Over 60 Participants with Diverse Backgrounds
The event brought together more than 60 attendees in total. The crowd included current NUS students participating in GIP Japan, NUS MBA alumni active in Japan, current KBS MBA and EMBA students, KBS alumni leading on the front lines of various industries, and members of the GFTN (Global FinTech Network). It became a large-scale platform for interaction, bringing together a wide range of individuals from students to highly experienced professionals.
NUS Attendees Bringing Diverse Cultural Backgrounds
The NUS participants who joined us this time represented a colorful array of origins, including India, Singapore, China, Japan, the United States, Canada, Taiwan, and various Southeast Asian countries (Thailand, the Philippines, and Malaysia). Engaging in dialogue with individuals possessing such diverse cultural backgrounds and work experiences provided an invaluable opportunity to gain multifaceted perspectives and real insights into global business--experiences that are hard to find in a typical domestic environment.
Event Highlights: Passion Beyond Language Barriers
The event kicked off brightly with a welcoming message of "Welcome to Japan!" from Professor Masahiro Okada, followed by a traditional Japanese "Kanpai!" (cheers).
Looking around the venue, one could see diverse groups of people eagerly talking with each other, completely transcending differences in age, gender, nationality, and career.
Participants communicated with gestures and sometimes used their smartphone screens to share the strong passion they have for their businesses and the pride they hold for their home countries.
It was a space where the pure desire to "share" and "understand" intersected. An overwhelming energy and passion that completely surpassed the need for a common language (or perfect English) enveloped the entire room.
60 Attendees United in a "Ippon-jime"
As the lively evening drew to a close, KBS introduced Ippon-jime, a traditional Japanese rhythmic clapping used to close an event.
"We clap once together to symbolize that we have become one team." Upon hearing its meaning, all participants stood up and brought their hands together. With the call of "Yo-o!", a perfectly synchronized clap echoed through the venue. It was a unifying finale where everyone came together as "one team" across borders.
Learning, Connections, and Gratitude
Having such deep and passionate discussions with international students and alumni from diverse backgrounds was a great "learning experience" for each and every participant.
We sincerely thank everyone who supported this event and the wonderful "connections" born that day. We will continue to value these global networking opportunities and expand our network of learning and practical business. Finally, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to the NUS members who traveled to join us and to everyone who participated in this memorable event.
